Luton 2-0 Blackburn: The Hatters impress as Rovers blanked

Blackburn Rovers fell to an away defeat at the hands of Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Saturday. Luton were aiming to improve their league standing after a 2-2 draw against Coventry City while Blackburn were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-0 win against Watford in their last match. Luton and Blackburn are 11th, (13 points) and 5th, (15 points), in the table respectively, after 11 matches.

After an uneventful first half, The Hatters piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Carlton Morris on the 58 minute mark. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Reece Burke, 67 minutes in to make it 2-0.

Both managers used the full entitlement. Substitutions for Luton included Cameron Jerome, Luke Freeman, Fred Onyedinma and Gabriel Osho for Cauley Woodrow, Henri Lansbury, Carlton Morris and Jordan Clark, respectively, Blackburn brought on George Hirst and Callum Brittain to replace Tyrhys Dolan and Hayden Carter.

There were bookings for Carlton Morris and Tom Lockyer from Luton, and Lewis Travis and Callum Brittain, for Blackburn.

Luton will next travel to Hull City, while Blackburn will face Millwall at home.
