On Saturday, Cardiff and Burnley played out a 1-1 draw at the Cardiff City Stadium. Cardiff were hoping to get something from this game, following defeat to Huddersfield Town. Burnley were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Bristol City in their last match. Cardiff are now in 18th place, with 12 points from 12 matches, while Burnley sit in 4th, with 18 points from 12.

After a goalless first half, whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Burnley who started the second half strongly, with an early goal from Nathan Tella in the 48th minute. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Callum Robinson equalised for Cardiff just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Cardiff included Andy Rinomhota, Max Watters, Gavin Whyte, Romaine Sawyers and Jack Simpson for Joe Ralls, Mark Thomas Harris, Callum O’Dowda, Sheyi Ojo and Cedric Kipre, respectively. Burnley brought on Manuel Benson, Ashley Barnes, Anass Zaroury and Samuel Bastien for Johann Gudmundsson, Jay Rodriguez, Nathan Tella and Josh Brownhill.

The referee booked Niels Nkounkou, Perry Ng and Cedric Kipre for Cardiff.

Burnley and Cardiff will next play at home to Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers respectively.
