Burnley 1-1 Stoke: The Clarets denied at home by girtty Potters
On Wednesday, Burnley and Stoke played out a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor. Burnley were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Cardiff City in their previous game. Stoke were beaten 4-0 in their previous match against Watford. Burnley are now in 5th place, with 19 points from 13 matches, while Stoke sit in 20th, with 13 points from 13.
After a goalless first half, Burnley certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, when Connor Roberts gave them the lead in the 54th minute. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Harry Clarke equalised for The Potters just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 1-1.
Substitutions for Burnley included Johann Gudmundsson and Anass Zaroury for Manuel Benson and Jack Cork, respectively. Stoke brought on Harry Clarke and D’Margio Wright-Phillips, to replace Dwight Gayle and Tyrese Campbell.
There were bookings for Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Vitinho from Burnley. For Stoke, Ben Wilmot and Liam Delap saw yellow.
Burnley will next play Coventry City away, with Stoke facing Sheffield United at home.
