Blackpool 3-1 Watford: Visitors leave Bloomfield Road empty handed
Blackpool defeated Watford 3-1 on Saturday at Bloomfield Road. Blackpool arrived with the intention of improving their league position after a scoreless draw against Sunderland AFC in their previous match while Watford had lost their previous match against Swansea City. Blackpool and Watford currently occupy 19th and 12th spots in the table, with 15 points and 17 points respectively after 14 matches.
Blackpool started strongly in the first half, when Gary Madine found the net in the 10th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Imran Louza equalised for The Hornets on the 29 minute mark. The score at half time remained 1-1.
Blackpool rallied after this and were rewarded, when Jerry Yates gave them the lead, 81 minutes in. Blackpool then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Jerry Yates just before the final whistle to make it 3-1.
Substitutions for Blackpool included Liam Bridcutt, Shayne Lavery and CJ Hamilton for Sonny Carey, Theodor Corbeanu and Gary Madine, respectively. Watford brought on Yaser Asprilla, Keinan Davis, Francisco Sierralta, Tom Dele-Bashiru and James William Morris, to replace Ken Sema, Vakoun Issouf Bayo, Dan Gosling, Edo Kayembe and Francisco Sierralta.
There were bookings for Dominic Thompson from Blackpool, and Imran Louza, for Watford.
