Birmingham 1-1 Watford: Hornets frustrated in away draw at St Andrews

Birmingham were held to 1-1 draw by Watford down on Tuesday at St Andrew’s Stadium. Birmingham were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 1-0 to Cardiff City. Watford were coming off the back of a 1-0 win against Burnley. Following today’s result, Birmingham and Watford currently occupy 9th and 3rd spots in the table, with 5 points and 8 points respectively after 4 matches.

Blues dominated the first half, thanks to a goal from George Hall at the 19 minute mark. The score at half time was 1-0.

Watford took the initiative in the second half, when Ken Sema found the net, at 63 minutes. The final result, Birmingham 1, Watford 1.

Substitutions for Birmingham included Alfie Chang, Lukas Jutkiewicz, Jonathan Leko and George Friend for George Hall, Scott Hogan, Troy Deeney and Przemyslaw Placheta, repectively. Watford replaced Rey Manaj, Dan Gosling, Keinan Davis and Joseph Hungbo with Vakoun Issouf Bayo, Yaser Asprilla, Edo Kayembe and Ken Sema.

There were bookings for Dion Sanderson from Birmingham. For Watford, Hamza Choudhury saw yellow.

Birmingham will play at home against Wigan Athletic, while Watford will face Preston North End away.
