Juve 2-2 Corinthians: Struggling Juventude claim a good point

On Wednesday, Juve and Corinthians played out a 2-2 draw at Alfredo Jaconi. Juve were looking forward to playing again after losing their last match 2-0 to Athletico Paranaense whilst Corinthians were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Cuiaba and Atlético Goianense. Juve and Corinthians currently occupy 20th and 4th spots in the table, with 20 points and 51 points respectively after 30 matches.

Corinthians started the first half well, with a goal from Giuliano on the 24 minute mark. However, their lead was short-lived, as Oscar Ruiz equalised for Juve just before half-time. The score at half time remained 1-1.

Corinthians started the second half with renewed vigour, when Yuri Alberto found the net on the 54 minute mark. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Isidro Pitta equalised for Juve in the 62nd minute, seing the match finish 2-2.

Substitutions for Juve included Oscar Ruiz, Gabriel Tota, Ruan Pereira Duarte, Paulo Henrique and Jean Irmer for Rafael Rech, Jadson, Capixaba, Rodrigo and Elton, respectively. Corinthians brought on Mateus Vital, Victor Cantillo, Fagner and Adson, to replace Renato Augusto, Roger Guedes, Bruno Mendez and Du Queiroz.

There were bookings for Ruan Pereira Duarte from Juve, and Gil and Adson, for Corinthians.

Juve will next play Santos FC away, with Corinthians facing Athletico Paranaense at home.
