Juventude 2-2 Botafogo: Juve still bottom after claiming a point

Juve were held to 2-2 draw by Botafogo down on Sunday at Alfredo Jaconi. Juve were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Cuiaba. Botafogo were unable to beat Atlético Goianense in a 0-0 draw. At the moment, Juve and Botafogo are 20th, (17 points) and 13th, (27 points), spots respectively, after 23 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Juve, with a goal from Isidro Pitta in the 9th minute to take them into the break 1-0 up.

Botafogo took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Junior Santos, 61 minutes in. However, each side looked hungry to win and Juve then found the back of the net, at 65 minutes thanks to Isidro Pitta, taking the score to 2-1. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Gabriel Appelt equalised for Botafogo at the 72 minute mark. The match ended wih a 2-2 draw.

Substitutions for Juve included Marlon, Jean Irmer, Capixaba, Oscar Ruiz and Vitor Gabriel for Anderson Leite, Marlon, Elton, Felipe Pires and Bruno Nazario, repectively. Botafogo brought on Rafael, Gabriel Appelt, Vinicius Lopes, Luis Henrique and Danilo for Renzo Saravia, Carlos Eduardo, Junior Santos, Joao Victor and Tche Tche.

There were bookings for Bruno Nazario and Capixaba from Juve. For Botafogo, Adryelson and Victor Cuesta saw yellow.

Juve will next play Internacional away, with Botafogo facing Flamengo at home.
