Juventude 1-2 Mineiro: Struggles continue for Juve as they suffer another loss

Juve on Saturday lost to Atl. Mineiro on a home defeat at Alfredo Jaconi. Juve wanted to improve their league standing following a disappointing 0-0 draw with São Paulo in their previous game whilst Mineiro were coming from consecutive wins against Fortaleza EC and Flamengo. After today’s result, Juve are in 19th place in the table and have 11 points while Mineiro sit in 2nd with 27 points after 15 matches.

Mineiro started the match well, when Hulk gave Mineiro the lead, at 30 minutes, finishing the first half 1-0.

Mineiro continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Eduardo Sasha, 56 minutes in. In the end though, Juve in the 76th minute pull-back via a Moraes goal and saw the match end 2-1.

Substitutions for Juve included Moraes, Isidro Pitta, Edinho and Paulo Henrique for William Matheus, Chico, Oscar Ruiz and Capixaba, repectively. Mineiro replaced Otavio, Rubens, Ignacio Fernandez, Mariano and Fabio with Ademir, Eduardo Vargas, Calebe, Eduardo Sasha and Hulk.

There were bookings for William Matheus and Yuri Lima from Juve, and Mariano, for Mineiro.

Juve will next travel to Coritiba, while Mineiro will face São Paulo at home.
