Fortaleza 1-0 Corinthians: Tricolor upset Corinthians at Estadio Castelao

Fortaleza EC strolled past Corinthians with a 1-0 win on Monday at Estadio Castelao. Fortaleza were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games in the competition. The most recent was against the Ceará away (1-0), the other to Internacional at home (3-0). Corinthians lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Palmeiras. As the table looks today, Fortaleza and Corinthians currently occupy 15th and 4th spots in the league, with 24 points and 39 points respectively after 23 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Fortaleza applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Moises Vieira da Veiga gave Fortaleza the lead in the 65th minute, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Fortaleza included Lucas Lima, Caio Alexandre, Valentin Depietri, Tinga and Matheus de Vargas for Romarinho, Brayan Ceballos, Moises Vieira da Veiga, Robson and Hercules Pereira Do Nascimento, repectively. Corinthians brought on Yuri Alberto, Du Queiroz, Leo Natel, Renato Augusto and Adson for Roger Guedes, Fausto Vera, Mateus Vital, Giuliano and Ramiro.

There were bookings for Lucas Sasha from Fortaleza, and Ramiro and Giuliano, for Corinthians.

Fortaleza will play their next fixture away against São Paulo, while Corinthians will face Red Bull Bragantino at home.
