Flamengo 1-1 Ceará: Ceará snatch a point at Maracana

Flamengo were helde ach other to a 1-1 draw by Ceará on Sunday at Maracana. Flamengo were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning last match whilst Ceará had secured a point against Athletico Paranaense in their previous match. Flamengo are currently 2nd with 43 points from 25 matches, while Ceará sit in 15th, with 27 points from 25.

Ceará took the lead, with a goal from Jo just before half-time, saw out the first half 1-0.

Flamengo started the second half with renewed vigour, thanks to a goal from Gabriel Barbosa on the 53 minute mark, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Flamengo included Everton Ribeiro, Arturo Vidal, Pedro, Matheuzinho and Matheus Franca for Diego, Victor Hugo Gomes Silva, Marinho, Guillermo Varela and Erick Pulgar, respectively. Ceará brought on Lucas Ribeiro, Fernando Sobral, Ze Roberto and Jhon Vasquez, to replace Messias, Richardson, Vinicius Goes and Vinicius Lima.

Flamengo and Ceará played a tough match where the referee sanctioned Flamengo with yellow cards to Gabriel Barbosa, Ayrton Lucas and Pedro and with red card to Gabriel Barbosa (2 yellow cards), while from Ceará Gabriel Lacerda, Nino Paraiba, Richard, Vinicius Goes, Joao Ricardo and Ze Roberto were booked and red to Jo.

Flamengo will play their next fixture away against Goiás EC, while Ceará will face Santos FC at home.
