Cuiaba snatched all three points from Juventude in a narrow 1-0 victory on Sunday, at Arena Pantanal. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Cuiaba were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Fluminense. Juve had lost their previous match against America Mineiro. Following today’s result, Cuiaba are in 15th place, with 23 points from 22 matches, while Juve sit in 20th, with 16 points from 22.

Cuiaba started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Andre found the net at the 22 minute mark to see out the first half 1-0. The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Cuiaba included Camilo, Joao Lucas, Deyverson, Paulao and Andre Luis for Alan Empereur, Daniel Guedes, Andre, Rafael Gava and Gabriel Cordeiro Pirani, repectively. Juve brought on Capixaba, Elton, Ricardo Bueno, Vítor Leque and Vitor Gabriel, to replace Thalisson Da Silva, Yuri Lima, Isidro Pitta, Moraes and Jadson.

The referee booked Alan Empereur, Pepe, Gabriel Cordeiro Pirani and Daniel Guedes from Cuiaba. Juve had the worst of it though, with Yuri Lima, Jadson, Elton and Vítor Leque seeing yellow, and Vítor Leque (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Cuiaba will play away against Atlético Goianense, while Juve will face Botafogo at home.
