Coritiba 2 – Goianense 0: Visitors unable to get win at Estadio Couto Pereira

Coritiba defeated Atlético Goianense 2-0 on Sunday at Estadio Couto Pereira. Both sides came from defeats in their previous league games. Coritiba arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing 2-0 to America Mineiro in their previous fixture. Goianense had lost their previous match against Atl. Mineiro. Coritiba are now in 16th place on the table and have 28 points while Goianense sit in 19th with 22 points after 26 matches.

Coritiba started strongly in the first half, when Alef Manga gave them the lead just before half-time

Coritiba started the second half with renewed vigour, with an early goal from Fabricio Daniel in the 50th minute, sealing a 2-0 victory for the home side.

Substitutions for Coritiba included Thonny Anderson, Warley, Nathan, Bernardo Marcos Lemes and Leo Gamalho for Robinho, Alef Manga, Natanael, Fabricio Daniel and Adrian Martinez, respectively. Goianense brought on Marlon Freitas, Diego Churín, Airton, Peglow and Jorginho, to replace Edson, Ricardinho, Wellington Rato, Luiz Fernando and Shaylon.

There were bookings for Alef Manga, Robinho, Natanael, Adrian Martinez, Rafael Santos and Gabriel from Coritiba. For Goianense, Wellington Rato, Luiz Fernando and Willian Maranhao saw yellow.

Coritiba will next travel to Botafogo, while Goianense will face Internacional at home.
