Corinthians 0-1 Palmeiras: Second-place Timão slip up at home
Corinthians were defeated at home by Palmeiras at Neo Quimica Arena on Sunday. Corinthians were looking for a victory following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Avai in their previous game whilst Palmeiras were coming from consecutive wins against Goiás EC and Ceará. As it stands, Corinthians are currently 2nd with 39 points from 22 matches, while Palmeiras sit in 1st, with 48 points from 22.
After an uneventful first half, Palmeiras continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Roni found the net, 72 minutes in. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 1-0 to Palmeiras.
