Corinthians 2-2 Internacional: Plenty of goals but no winner

On Sunday, Corinthians and Internacional played out a 2-2 draw at Neo Quimica Arena. Both Corinthians and Internacional arrived fresh from some positive results. Corinthians were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Internacional came from back-to-back wins against Juventude and Avai. both teams are now on 43 points and occupy 3rd and 4th places respectively after 25 matches.

Internacional started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early goal from Alemao in the 1st minute. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Fabian Balbuena managing to equalize in the 13th minute 1-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Yuri Alberto made it 2-1 on the 19 minute mark, which saw the first half end 2-1.

Internacional took the initiative in the second half, when Alan Patrick found the net, at 67 minutes, seing the match finish 2-2.

Substitutions for Corinthians included Rafael Ramos, Victor Cantillo, Bruno Mendez, Roni and Mateus Vital for Fagner, Ramiro, Rafael Ramos, Giuliano and Gustavo Da Silva, respectively. Internacional brought on Alan Patrick, Edenilson, Pedro Henrique, Braian Romero and Liziero, to replace Carlos De Pena, Johnny, Mauricio, Alemao and Wanderson.

There were bookings for Victor Cantillo and Fabian Balbuena from Corinthians. For Internacional, Daniel and Carlos De Pena saw yellow.

Corinthians will next play São Paulo away, with Internacional facing Cuiaba at home.
