Avai 1-1 Corinthians : Honours even at Estadio da Ressacada

On Sunday, Avai and Corinthians were held to a 1-1 draw at Estadio da Ressacada. Avai arrived at the match looking pick up points after losing their last match 3-1 to America Mineiro whilst Corinthians were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Botafogo and Atl. Mineiro. As the table looks today, Avai and Corinthians are 16th, (21 points) and 2nd, (38 points), in the league respectively, after 21 matches.

Avai dominated the first half, with a goal from Bissoli at the 36 minute mark. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Corinthians took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Fabian Balbuena in the 78th minute, leaving the final score at 1-1 draw.
