Goianense 2-1 Bragantino: Too little to late for Bragatino

Goianense enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Red Bull Bragantino at Estadio Antonio Accioly on Sunday. Goianense were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last match 4-1 to Flamengo. Bragantino had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Juventude. As the table looks today, Goianense are in 18th place in the table and have 20 points while Bragantino sit in 8th with 30 points after 21 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Goianense who started the second half well, with a goal from Marlon Freitas, 52 minutes in. Goianense looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Diego Churín at the 60 minute mark to establish a 2-0. In the end though, Bragantino pull-back just before the final whistle, with a goal from Luan Candido. The final result, Goianense 2, Bragantino 1.

Substitutions for Goianense included Diego Churín, Rhaldney Norberto Simiao Gomes, Luiz Fernando, Arthur Henry and Kelvin for Ricardinho, Peglow, Willian Maranhao, Jefferson and Airton, repectively. Bragantino brought on Marcos Vinicios, Carlos Eduardo, Ramires, Hyoran and Ramon, to replace Praxedes, Helinho, Lucas Evangelista, Jan Hurtado and Raul.

There were bookings for Peglow from Goianense. For Bragantino, Marcos Vinicios saw yellow.

Next up, Goianense are away to Botafogo, whilst Bragantino will travel to face São Paulo.
